ASI is looking for a dynamic, client-focused Sales Engineer I to be a key player in driving business growth. This role sits at the intersection of sales and technology, requiring both deep technical acumen and an ability to connect with clients on a strategic level. The Sales Engineer will partner closely with the sales team to identify client pain points and design tailored solutions that align with ASI's offerings, showcasing the value of our industry-leading mortgage accounting software.

The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the community banking industries and excel in translating technical capabilities into practical business solutions. You will lead technical discovery sessions, craft innovative solutions, and present those solutions in a way that resonates with community banking executives and department leaders. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to both prospects and the internal sales team, helping guide the sales process by offering insights into system architecture, integration capabilities, and potential for long-term scalability.

In this role, you will be crucial to driving deal success, helping prospects understand how ASI can solve their unique challenges and improve operational efficiency. As a Sales Engineer, your ability to blend technical insights with business strategy will help shape the future of our client relationships and accelerate company growth.

Specific Responsibilities:

Presales Support:

  • Collaborate with Sales Account Executives to understand customer requirements and tailor product demonstrations to meet specific needs.
  • Conduct live demonstrations of ASI software, showcasing its features, benefits, and value proposition to potential and existing clients.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from clients and prospects, providing clear and concise explanations of the software's capabilities.

Collaboration & Product Expertise:

  • Assist in the design of customized software solutions that align with client business processes and objectives.
  • Work closely with the product development team to communicate client feedback.
  • Liaise with product management on system enhancement, new module design, and end-user requirements and provide UAT support.
  • Support the sales team in the preparation of proposals, including the technical aspects and the creation of customized solution presentations.
  • Review and refine product documentation and presentation materials with the marketing team to highlight ASI product strengths, ensuring key sales initiatives are effectively incorporated.

Customer Engagement:

  • Engage with clients during the pre-sales process to gather requirements, answer questions, and address concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle.

Solution Engineering & Consulting:

  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment of messaging and demonstration strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing feedback from the field to help refine product offerings.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to the sales team on the technical aspects of ASI software.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and the latest features of ASI to ensure accurate and compelling demonstrations.

Geographical Location & Travel required:

  • Lincoln, NE
  • 15-20% Travel

Education & Experience:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical support role, preferably in SaaS or financial software.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and demonstrate complex software solutions.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business value.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, MS Outlook, and Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritizing, time management, and ability to meet deadlines.
