Duties

  • Prepare and assemble menu items efficiently while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Operate POS systems such as Square for accurate order processing and cash handling
  • Serve customers with enthusiasm, providing friendly assistance and upselling menu items to enhance their experience
  • Manage food safety protocols by adhering to sanitation standards, proper food handling, and cleanliness practices
  • Assist with food prep tasks including chopping, cooking, assembling ingredients, and maintaining inventory levels
  • Handle cashier responsibilities including processing transactions, giving change, and balancing cash drawers at shift end
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by cleaning equipment, and ensuring sanitation compliance
  • Support the team during busy service hours in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting to ensure smooth operations
  • Follow all safety guidelines related to food handling, kitchen procedures, and customer interactions
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by collaborating effectively with colleagues and supporting each other's roles

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments; culinary experience is highly valued
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Square for efficient transaction processing
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse patrons
  • Excellent time management skills to handle fast-paced service periods seamlessly
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales opportunities
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, grocery store transactions, and retail math calculations
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
  • Experience in cashiering and cash handling with accuracy and integrity
  • Capable of multitasking in a quick service or fast food restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Kitchen experience or café background preferred; familiarity with retail math is a plus
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth operations
