The Manager of E-Discovery is part of the E-Discovery Solutions team and advises attorneys, paralegals and clients on matters involving discovery to improve effectiveness and create organizational efficiencies. You will assist with analyzing and recommending technology solutions for relevant data, assist with development of collection plans and managing collections, and implementing cost-saving measures. The Manager of E-Discovery works closely with case teams and clients ensuring that matter requirements are met through the project lifecycle, with a focus on collection, early case assessment, production workflows and the application of appropriate AI, technology-assisted review and other analytics.

This position will oversee and manage E-Discovery Technical Specialists, assist with budgeting, evaluation of technologies, tracking metrics relating to user adoption and technology use and driving the effective and responsible use of technology. The Manager of E-Discovery reports directly to the Director E-Discovery Solutions.

The role can be based out of any of Hanson Bridgett's offices and offers the opportunity to work remotely two days a week, however the Manager of E-Discovery's home office must be based in California and within close proximity to a Hanson Bridgett office.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Consult with case teams, Director of E-Discovery Solutions and E-Discovery Counsel at every phase of discovery to improve effectiveness and create organizational efficiencies, analyzing and recommending technology solutions for relevant data, and implementing cost-saving solutions.

· Manage and work with the E-Discovery Technical Specialists and assist to cultivate high team performance and utilization through opportunities, skill building, continuing education and certification programs.

· Drive operational efficiencies through process refinement and strategic resource allocation.

· Assist in the development of collection strategies and effectuate or manage collection plans in a forensically sound and defensible manner.

· Prepare and edit process, template and workflow documentation.

· Be proficient in Everlaw as an organization administrator and end-user to support all work in the platform and be available to support the E-Discovery Technical Specialists and other firm users, clients, experts and co-counsel.

· Perform other work at the direction of the Director of E-Discovery Solutions, including strategic planning to align with the firm's strategic goals.

· The is a billable role.

Required Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

· BS or BA required or equivalent experience plus 4 – 7 years of legal industry experience with experience in a management role.

· Strong knowledge of the principles of e-discovery software and all phases of the litigation process.

· Strong technical background.

· Strong experience conducting, facilitating and documenting forensically sound data collections.

· Proficiency in e-Discovery review and analytics platforms and knowledge of other supporting technologies.

· Certification as an E-Discovery Specialist and Project Management Professional preferred

· Strong writing skills and experience developing and implementing project plans, processes, procedures and workflows.

· Proactive individual with enthusiasm and a collaborative approach to creating solutions.

· Effective communicator and able act as liaison between the technical and legal teams.

· This is an exempt position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $155, $180,000.00 per year
