Bartender

Overview

The bartender responsibly prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in the bar. Bartenders are the face and energy of Zhuzh, they are expected to work professionally and respectfully but are also to share a happy and vibrant energy, have fun, and sincerely smile to all our guest and teammates

Role and Responsibilities

The following role and responsibilities are not a limiting overview of the Bartender job description,

• Opening and closing duties including setting up and breaking down the bar, bar wells.

• Accounting for cash drawers opening and closing during shift, report 100% of tips earned.

• Handling credit cards, keeping track of open tabs, responsible cash and payment handling.

• Preparing cocktails per recipe specifications.

• Spirit, wine, beer, knowledge proficiency.

• Responsible service of alcohol, handling IDs, following federal, state, and liquor laws.

• Maintaining a clean working environment.

• Working safely, meet sanitation standards, food safety standards.

• Managing crowds, first come first serve.

• Set up garnishes, stock fruit, stock garnishes.

• Re-stock spirits, beer, wine.

• Receive product deliveries and assist in organizing and re-stocking.

• Take ownership and pride of current bar program.

• Wash, polish, restock bar glasses, dish ware, clear dirty glassware.

• Communicate politely, professionally, and assist team members.

• Graciously offer assistance on cocktail, wine, spirit, beer, to guests.

• Accommodate guest requests particularly when guests request "off-menu" cocktails to achieve satisfaction.

• Courteously provide response to guest and supervisor requests.

• Clean restroom, back areas, floors, dusting, special cleaning projects, dispose of trash, compost, recycle.

• Anticipate guest and team member needs.

• Assists in any additional operational needs.

• Prepare cocktails with fresh produce, fruits, garnishes.

-Participate in special events, banquets, or special private parties as required.

-Side work, cleaning projects, weekly and daily cleanliness.

-Juicing, prepping, batching house cocktails.

Qualifications Include

• Work weekends, holidays, late nights, and have a flexible schedule.

• Happy, jovial demeanor, treat guests and team members with genuine care, respect, professional service.

• Pride in craft cocktail, craft wine and beer, and craft bar program.

• POS experience a plus.

• Able to safely lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, reach, carry up product up and down stairs.

• Be at least 21 years of age to tend bar.

• Ability to communicate kindly and with respect.

• Be punctual for start and end of shifts, meal breaks, rest periods.

• Ability to handle multiple drink orders, guest request, and multi task.

• Bartending experience at least 2 years.

• Ability to handle difficult situations professionally, possibly intoxicated guests, diffuse tense situations.

• Work in a high pace, high energy environment.

• Ability to work in a team environment, assists other team members when they need assistance, work with DJs and Karaoke DJ.

Working Conditions

This position requires multi-tasking and orchestrating several tasks at one time. It requires working late hours, week nights, weekend nights, and holidays. Working in crowds and navigating crowds. This position may require employees to work in a small space. This position may require working under high stress circumstances, skid and slip resistant foot wear and appropriate clothing may be required. This position requires standing for extended periods of time. Working with loud music, strobe lights, bright lights, neon lights, video projections. It may require heavy lifting occasionally and working with sharp utensils. It may require the individual to work in cold temperatures. May be required to handle difficult employees, difficult guests, and assist with any other critical operational demands.

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
