We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Counter Salesperson to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with product selection, and managing sales transactions efficiently. A key highlight of this position is our coffee program; experience as a Barista is a significant plus, as you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages for our guests. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections.
- Operate professional espresso machinery to prepare barista-style coffee, lattes, and specialty drinks.
- Maintain knowledge of coffee blends, roast profiles, and preparation methods to educate customers.
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Conduct product demos and upsell additional items to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure products are well-organized.
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy and adhere to cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and inviting store environment, including the coffee station and seating areas.
- Support supervising staff when necessary and contribute to team goals.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery, bakery, or cafe settings.
- Barista experience (manual or semi-automatic espresso machines) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills; bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) are a major plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math concepts.
- Experience with merchandising, upselling, and product demonstrations.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly.
- Professional phone etiquette and effective interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to multitask between serving customers at the counter and preparing beverages.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $26.28 per hour
