About the Role

An opportunity for an experienced
Customer Support Engineer
to join a specialist team supporting mission-critical
Energy Management Systems (EMS)
and
SCADA applications
.

You will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing
GE e-terra
,
Habitat UI
, and other core EMS platforms. This role demands both technical precision and operational understanding, ensuring that grid control and energy management systems perform flawlessly in demanding real-time environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced support for
    GE e-terra
    ,
    Habitat UI
    , and EMS core components.
  • Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve complex system issues affecting real-time operations.
  • Support live customer environments, ensuring high system availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain patches, upgrades, and configuration changes in accordance with best practice.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve application and infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Configure and manage systems across
    Linux
    and
    Windows
    operating environments.
  • Utilise expertise in
    TCP/IP
    ,
    routing
    ,
    LAN/WAN
    ,
    DNS
    ,
    Active Directory
    , and
    firewalls
    to diagnose and resolve connectivity or system integration issues.
  • Engage with customers in a professional and empathetic manner, providing technical guidance and clear communication.
  • Maintain documentation, logs, and support records for compliance and audit purposes.

Required Experience

  • 8–19 years of professional experience supporting
    EMS
    ,
    SCADA
    , or
    real-time control systems
    .
  • Proven expertise in
    GE e-terra
    and
    Habitat UI
    products.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with
    Oracle
    ,
    SQL
    ,
    Linux
    , and
    Windows
    administration.
  • Knowledge of
    network infrastructure
    ,
    application interfaces
    , and
    system performance tuning
    .
  • Familiarity with
    electrical transmission and distribution grid
    operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first approach.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of
    NERC CIP
    and other compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with
    Python
    ,
    Docker
    , or
    automation tools
    .
  • Familiarity with system monitoring and remote diagnostics platforms.
  • Strong analytical mindset and collaborative approach to issue resolution.
