Who We Are
Company Overview
Cheiron (formerly PhnyX Lab) is a Stanford-based AI startup based in Silicon Valley, building next-generation AI systems for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical industries. Our core product,
Cheiron Search
, is a generative AI platform purpose-built for biopharma research - designed to reason over primary literature, clinical data, regulatory-grade sources, and much more with unparalleled traceability and scientific rigor.
Since launching in 2024, Cheiron has achieved rapid international adoption, including capturing approx. 30% market share in the Korean pharmaceutical sector within months, all while generating meaningful revenue across 5,000+ users and 1,000+ companies. We are proudly pre-VC, backed by a $6M+ angel round from globally recognized investors, including leaders from SK and Samsung families, and two co-authors of "Attention is All You Need."
As we scale our U.S. presence, we are expanding our interdisciplinary team at the intersection of AI, life sciences, and real-world life sciences workflows.
The Role
We're seeking a passionate, high-energy
Life Sciences Research Specialist (AI-Enabled)
to work closely with our product, research, and scientific leadership teams to help shape how Cheiron is used, evaluated, and refined by real life science professionals.
This role is intentionally broad and interdisciplinary. It is designed for scientists and life science professionals who are deeply familiar with how pharmaceutical research actually works - from hypothesis generation and literature review to translational decision-making and clinical interpretation - and who are excited about applying AI to accelerate and improve those workflows.
You will engage deeply with Cheiron as a power user, stress-test it against real scientific questions, and contribute insights that help guide product evolution. This is NOT a sales or business development role, but instead ideal for individuals who enjoy critical thinking, scientific synthesis, and evaluating emerging tools at the frontier of AI and biopharma.
What You'll Do
- Apply Cheiron to real-world biopharma questions across discovery, preclinical, translational, clinical, or regulatory contexts
- Conduct deep literature-driven analyses using AI to synthesize findings from publications, patents, and public biomedical datasets
- Evaluate AI-generated insights for scientific accuracy, relevance, and usefulness in pharmaceutical decision-making
- Collaborate with internal AI, product, and research teams to provide structured feedback on model outputs, useability, and workflows
- Help define best practices for how AI can augment scientists, clinicians, and R&D teams without compromising rigor
- Contribute to internal knowledge assets, benchmarks, and examples that demonstrate high-quality, AI-assisted scientific reasoning
- Stay current on emerging trends in biopharma, clinical research, and AI-enabled drug development
Who This Role Is For
This role is intentionally open to a wide range of life science professionals, including but not limited to:
- PhD or MD scientists (or equivalent experience) in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, pharmacology, or related fields
- Postdocs or senior research associates exploring non-traditional career paths
- Clinical, translational, or regulatory professionals who work heavily with literature and data
- Consultants or analysts with deep life-science domain knowledge and strong analytical skills
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in life sciences, pharmaceutical research, or biomedical data interpretation
- Comfort reading, synthesizing, and critically evaluating scientific literature and data
- Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for applying AI to real scientific workflows
- Ability to think rigorously, question outputs, and articulate insights clearly
- Strong written communication skills and attention to scientific detail
- Prior experience with AI tools, computational platforms, or advanced search systems is a plus, but not required
Mindset & Working Style
- Curious, analytical, and scientifically rigorous
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Thoughtful skeptic - you validate, verify, and pressure-test information
- Motivated by impact, learning, and shaping the future of life science research
- Excited to work at the frontier of AI and life sciences, not bound by traditional roles
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time role offers
$200K - $250K
in total compensation, including performance-based bonus. Compensation is determined by experience, expertise, and role alignment. Benefits include competitive healthcare, equity participation, and the opportunity to work closely with a world-class interdisciplinary team.
Why Cheiron
At Cheiron, you won't be boxed into a narrow function. You'll help define how AI is actually used by life science professionals - not in theory, but in practice. If you are excited about shaping the future of biopharma research and working on problems that matter, we'd love to hear from you.
