Electrical Engineer – Medical Device Systems

A leading medical device company is expanding its engineering team and is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong experience in high-power electronics and hands-on product development.

Position Overview

This engineer will join a multidisciplinary R&D group working on advanced medical device technologies. The role involves circuit design, embedded development, prototyping, testing, and system-level integration in a highly technical, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate electronic circuits
  • Select components based on lifecycle, availability, and reliability
  • Develop PCB layouts in Altium Designer
  • Build embedded control solutions using ARM-based architectures
  • Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
  • Perform hardware and software testing
  • Support compliance and safety evaluations
  • Assist with prototype builds, including SMD rework

Desired Technical Skills

  • Power switching components (IGBTs, MOSFETs)
  • Analog circuit design, including constant-current sources
  • Precision sensing and detector interfacing
  • Switching power supply design
  • Transformer and magnetic circuit fundamentals
  • Mixed-signal design (ADCs, DACs, converters)
  • Serial interfaces (I²C, SPI, UART)
  • Operational amplifier applications (signal conditioning, filtering, instrumentation)
  • Basic digital circuitry
  • Experience with robotics, motion control, or electromechanical systems is a plus

Qualifications

  • BSEE required
  • 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Comfortable working with high-voltage and high-current systems (up to 1000 V, 400 A, 4 kW)
  • Strong background in switching power supply design
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Preferably experienced in medical devices or other regulated hardware
