Summary:

The Technology Support Coordinator is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to users within an organization. They work closely with the IT department to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, as well as assist with the implementation and maintenance of technology systems. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. The Technology Support Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems and maximizing user productivity.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the technical support of application systems and equipment that support the day to day operations of NJ TRANSIT's Digital Commerce systems
  • Responsible for the performance of mobile devices, fare collection devices and back-end systems.
  • Recommends enhancements, coordinates maintenance and repairs.
  • Manages the maintenance of the NJ TRANSIT Digital Commerce equipment.
  • Responsible for coordinating with 3rd party supplier of Digital Commerce equipment and systems for issues, repairs and upgrades.
  • Manages software downloads and provisioning for all Digital Commerce equipment including mobile devices and fare collection equipment to accommodate users/customer requirements.
  • Analyze current business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure systems run efficiently and align with business needs.
  • Communicate effectively with users to guide them through solutions.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science
  • One (1) or more years of applied computer systems experience.
  • Degree may be substituted by two (2) additional years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of software products available on the NJ TRANSIT network including Word, Excel,
  • Access, Outlook Email/Calendar required.
  • Hands on IT experience troubleshooting mobile devices and/or other IT field equipment required.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of systems development lifecycle (SDLC) or agile methodologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Environment:

  • Office
  • Remote
  • Field locations

Physical Demands:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions
