Mid-Continent Group is accepting resumes for IT Internship candidates starting employment in April-May through the summer of 2026 with a hybrid work schedule in Tulsa Oklahoma. The Internship includes a combination of activities aimed at giving the intern a full understanding of the IT department and how it interacts with other functions within the organization. The program is a potential pathway to a career in insurance and/or technology. Internships typically consist of a 10-week period over the summer.
We are looking for a driven and collaborative IT Intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of technical and user support functions, including data management and reporting, application development, quality assurance, infrastructure, and desktop support. Interns will work closely with experienced IT professionals and cross-functional teams to support business operations and contribute to meaningful projects that enhance our technology landscape. Responsibilities will include:
- Participate and gain knowledge in the daily operations and functions of the IT department.
- Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and documentation.
- Support the IT team in troubleshooting and resolving system and application problems.
- Participate in team meetings and daily standups to stay aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Contribute to documentation efforts for systems, processes, and user guides.
- Support data analysis and reporting tasks using internal tools and platforms.
Networking:
As an IT Intern, you'll engage with professionals across the IT department, business units, and leadership teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of organizational functions. In addition to hands-on learning through project work and daily operations, interns participate in structured development activities such as knowledge exchange sessions designed to deepen their understanding of business processes and technology strategy.
Qualifications:
- 3.5 preferred GPA, with a 3.0 minimum GPA for consideration.
- Proven leadership skills through work experience (prior internship/co-ops a plus), campus involvement, and/or extracurricular activities.
- Superior communication, analytical, planning, and organizing skills.
- Self-motivated, as the nature of the internship may have virtual aspects.
- Current student in a bachelor's degree program in a wide range of majors, with Insurance & Risk Management students encouraged to apply.
- May graduate preferred but not required.
