Purpose of the job:

To assist the maintenance and production teams in the maintenance and repair of food process machinery and facility to ensure an effective and efficient daily operation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repair, setup, start-up and troubleshooting of dairy processing and packaging equipment
  • Adjusting, dismantling, installing, optimizing, and repairing dairy processing machinery and equipment
  • Identifying, developing, assisting, and implementing improvements related to food processing equipment
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure effective, efficient, and safe operations
  • Perform preventive/regular maintenance on manufacturing equipment/ machinery
  • Identify potential concerns and problems on equipment before failure
  • Communicate and report to team about potential concerns/ problems
  • Documenting and reporting work performed and issues found in compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards
  • Responding to calls and effectively prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Must have
  • Completing projects based off of work orders or otherwise assigned
  • Communicate with teammates, supervisors and production staff regularly and concisely

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Ideally 2-3 year experience with industrial maintenance in a factory/plant environment
  • Skilled in using windows computers for tasks like searching the web, using email, writing text documents, using spreadsheets, filling out forms, teams chat, keeping organized file systems.
  • Fluency in the English language on technical topics
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Knowledge of integrated automated systems
  • Knowledge of occupational safety practices
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Ability to work: alone/ around others/ together with others
  • Ability to work: effectively/efficiently by oneself and in teams
  • Ability to work: in a fast-paced environment

  • Lock out tag out (LOTO)
  • Bearings and drives troubleshooting and repair
  • AC motor troubleshooting and repair
  • Electrical troubleshooting (24v, 120v, 240v, 480v)
  • PLC/VFD programming
  • Forklift certification
  • Scissor/boom lift certification
  • Basic stainless steel TIG Welding
  • General fabrication
  • General plumbing
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Fluid transmission systems
  • Conversational ability in Spanish

Physical Demand:

  • Requires carrying (up to 50 lb)/ lifting (up to 50 lb)
  • Requires repetitive actions/ motions
  • Requires bending/ climbing/ kneeling/ pulling/ pushing/ reaching/ twisting
  • Requires standing (for extended periods of time)/ walking (for extended periods of time)
  • Ability to read faint/small text or diagrams in varying light conditions
  • Ability to work and concentrate in a noisy/loud environment with proper hearing protection
  • Ability to enter confined spaces with proper safety precautions
  • Ability to work safely at moderate heights

Working Conditions:

The employee works in the food production factory and is exposed to an environment consisting of: chemicals, electrical/ mechanical power: equipment/tools, fluctuating hot/ cold temperatures, grease/ oils, hot/ cold: objects/surfaces/substances, humid environment, loud noise level and outside weather, varying heights.

Job Type: Full-time hourly 40 hrs/week
