Warehouse Associate - Fargo

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

JOB SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Associate position must possess good decision making and prioritization skills. A warehouse associate is responsible for monitoring the needs of the packaging and production lines, loading, and unloading trailers from warehouse dock, keeping the warehouse in good order, and practicing first in-first out (FIFO) inventory procedures. To be proficient in this position, individuals must complete Dakota MB's comprehensive training program. Our Warehouse training program details how to operate a forklift to move finished products, raw materials, and other items for proper placement in warehouses, production areas, trailers, and containers. Qualified individuals are also competent in all food safety and OSHA procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. General Duties

a. Operates forklift for appropriate finished product and raw material distribution.

b. Operates bar coding equipment and software for proper inventory control.

c. Load and unload pallets of products from trucks and trailers while following established procedures.

d. Labels incoming raw materials and finished products.

e. Maintaining a clean work environment by sweeping and emptying trash containers.

f. Assists Waste Management with proper placement of dumpsters for emptying.

g. Visual inspections of products, materials and trailers for defects, damages, and foreign material.

h. Conducts periodic cycle counts upon request.

2. Documentation and Record Keeping

a. Proficient use of DSM's barcoding system.

b. Completes necessary paperwork for tracking lot numbers, transfers, and shipments.

3. Teamwork, Efficiency, and Safety

a. Extracts finished products from packaging lines and properly store materials in warehouse in a First in First Out (FIFO) procedure.

b. Shall act as support to maintain the overall food safety practices and The SQF Code as appropriate.

c. Ensures all warehouse areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.

d. Acts as an alternate for all DSM Warehouse positions.

e. Performs any task the manager deems necessary for completion or modification of a project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Comprehension of verbal and written instruction.

  2. Basic math skills for inventory control.

  3. Forklift experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
