Job Title: Lead Cook
General Position Description
The Lead Cook supports the Teachers and Director by helping create a safe environment for the children. The Lead Cook must be able to prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals for kids of all ages and must be able to communicate with, listen to, and work well with others. Maintains a sanitary and organized environment that is conducive with Board of Health and Hospitals regulations.
Major Functions/ Responsibilities:
- Developmentally appropriate interactions with children.
- Maintain the preparation, service, and clean-up of food for breakfast, lunch, and snack
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Have reliable attendance with minimum absences.
- Maintain paperwork and documentation required.
- Maintain organization and sanitation of the kitchen.
- Must keep director and assistant director informed concerning staff members, children, and parental issues.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Maintain normal routine by daily schedule adherence.
- Maintaining center policies and procedures.
- Staying in compliance with all state regulations.
- Additional duties as needed.
Additional:
The Lead Cook must adhere to the policies and procedures of Little Blessings Childcare and Preschool. They are responsible for kitchen safety and sanitation. The lead cook must be able to maintain friendly/ professional connections with the staff members and parents. The Lead Cook is responsible for supporting and implementing all decisions made by management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
