Position: Line Cook

Reports to: Kitchen Manager / Chef

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items according to Bartolo's recipes and standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work station during service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook all menu items following recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the work area throughout the shift.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to Bartolo's quality and consistency standards.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Handle food safely and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food supplies properly.
  • Restock and clean stations at the end of the shift, ensuring readiness for the next day.
  • Support other team members and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain one upon hire).

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule—availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week
