Job Summary:

The Body Shop Technician is responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition following accidents or damage. This role requires technical skills in body repair, painting, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Assessment:
    • Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed.
    • Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and timelines.
  • Repair and Restoration:
    • Perform bodywork, including removing dents, repairing panels, and replacing damaged parts.
    • Utilize various tools and equipment to complete repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Painting and Finishing:
    • Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
    • Apply paint and clear coat, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct final inspections to ensure repairs meet company standards and customer expectations.
    • Make adjustments and refinements as necessary to achieve optimal results.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.
    • Collaborate with the management team to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other technicians and staff to coordinate repair efforts.
    • Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in automotive body repair is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as a Body Shop Technician or in a similar role is required.
    • Familiarity with various types of vehicles and body repair techniques.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in using body shop tools and equipment, including spray guns and frame machines.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment as needed.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
