Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between them and our service technicians. We use CDK as our DMS so that is preferred. A candidate that is bilingual is a plus. This role requires a strong background in automotive service, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage service requests efficiently. The Service Writer will play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our service department. We are a drug free work place, no weekends or late nights.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assess their automotive service needs.
  • Document customer concerns and relay information accurately to service technicians.
  • Schedule appointments for vehicle repairs and maintenance services.
  • Provide estimates for services, including shocks struts, diesel engine repair, tire service, and more.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, services performed, and parts used.
  • Manage cash handling processes effectively during transactions.
  • Follow up with customers regarding completed services and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the service team to optimize workflow and improve overall efficiency.
  • Stay updated on dealership policies, mechanical knowledge, and industry trends to provide informed recommendations.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within an automotive dealership is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
  • Familiarity with auto service management software is an advantage.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repairs is essential.
  • Experience in handling cash transactions accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technical staff.
