Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Administrative Specialist opportunity at the Catholic University of America's Vitreous State Laboratory in Washington, DC.

This position is temporary with an anticipated duration of 3 months.

SUMMARY

The Administrative Specialist supports the Vitreous State Laboratory (VSL) Controller and staff with procurement, purchasing, and administrative operations.

  • Core responsibilities include PCard reconciliation, order placement, shipping and logistics coordination, task triage, and data entry/management using an Access-based database and PeopleSoft (Cardinal Financials).
  • The role requires strong MS Office proficiency, particularly in Excel and Access, and accuracy in tracking and maintaining purchasing records.
  • Additional duties include travel arrangements, reimbursements, and managing communication and supply logistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 5-10 years of administrative and / or office support experience, and/or combination of experience and education.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
  • Works well in a team-oriented environment and contributes to group success.
  • Strong attention to detail in a highly technical and complex work environment.
  • Ability to conduct work scope with discreetness and strict professional confidentiality.
  • Strong, professional, and effective, written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management and personnel.
  • Capable of maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and experience in providing administrative support in areas of purchasing, invoicing, and vendor management is preferred.

Compensation

Pay is commensurate with education and experience and may range between $25.00-$30.00 per hour.
