Communications Specialist (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
This position offers an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic team focused on customer sales and engagement within the public sector. The role combines strategic communications, executive support, and operational coordination to deliver seamless customer experiences and organizational excellence. Working closely with account teams, administrative staff, and executive leadership, this team member will play a vital role in crafting compelling communications, coordinating high-impact events, and ensuring leadership is prepared for critical engagements. The position requires a proactive professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates exceptional organizational abilities, and possesses strong communication skills. Success in this role depends on building effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, adapting quickly to changing priorities, and maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to customer success stories while supporting strategic business initiatives and executive communications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively collaborate with Executive Admin to manage calendars, schedules, and logistics for customer and executive engagements
  • Coordinate and support customer events, executive meetings, and organizational communications
  • Create keynote presentations, including scripting and PowerPoint development
  • Prepare executive backgrounders, talking points, and follow-up actions for meetings and keynotes
  • Develop and deliver weekly LinkedIn posts and bi-weekly internal newsletters
  • Collect and share customer stories to highlight impact and success
  • Partner closely with the Chief of Staff on activities in support of business strategy and planning to ensure the team is always prepared to meet deliverables within deadlines
  • Use CoPilot and prompt engineering to enhance communications and streamline workflows
  • Complete special projects as needed

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of administrative or project support experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering communications for senior leaders including executive backgrounders, talking points, presentations, and follow-up materials
  • Previous experience in the technology or public sector preferred
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences including executives, partners, customers, and internal teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, PowerPoint, Teams, and Microsoft Office Systems
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Stakeholder management experience across diverse groups including account teams, administrative staff, and executive leadership
  • Experience managing communications for events, meetings, and organizational initiatives including coordination, scripting, and post-event follow-up

  • Pay Range*: $ $38 per hour
  • Weekly Schedule: 30 hours
