Job Title: Bookkeeper / Financial Assistant
Location: Peabody, MA (In-Person)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Start Date: Immediate – we're looking to fill this position ASAP
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Financial Assistant to help manage our financial records and support our healthcare organization's operational success. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks Online, possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, and have bookkeeping experience. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Bookkeeping Tasks: Process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and prepare financial reports.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, including tracking employee hours, managing deductions, and ensuring timely payments.
- Tax and Compliance: Support preparation of 1099s, assist with tax-related documentation, and ensure compliance with Workers' Compensation requirements.
- Accruals and Reconciliations: Manage accruals, track expenses, and perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Health Insurance Reimbursements: Process and track health insurance reimbursement claims, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Spreadsheet Management: Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to streamline processes and provide financial insights.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Assist with additional financial and administrative tasks as needed to support the organization's goals.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bookkeeping experience with a proven track record of managing financial records.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (certification is a plus).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating and managing spreadsheets.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred:
- Familiarity with accruals, payroll processing, tax documentation (e.g., 1099s), and Workers' Compensation compliance.
- Experience with health insurance reimbursement processes.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus but not required.
