Job Title: Prep Cook

Location: Rosalia Texa-Tonka

Reports to: Sous Chef / Executive Chef

Compensation: $16 - $20/hour

This role is essential in ensuring smooth service by preparing all necessary ingredients and items ahead of time, receiving and organizing vendor deliveries, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the daily prep list according to specified quantities and timelines
  • Follow all recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen at all times
  • Adhere to all health department safety and sanitation standards
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store all vendor deliveries
  • Report any issues with delivered products to a chef and contact vendors as needed
  • Keep prep station neat, tidy, and stocked
  • Use the First In, First Out (FIFO) method for all food storage
  • Keep the walk-in organized and clean
  • Label and date all prepared items correctly
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas before leaving for the day
  • Communicate with management regarding any incomplete prep tasks or low-stock items

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen fundamentals
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Receptive to feedback and willing to take direction
  • Able to manage time effectively and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Este puesto es esencial para garantizar un servicio fluido al preparar con anticipacin todos los ingredientes e insumos necesarios, recibir y organizar las entregas de proveedores, y mantener un entorno de trabajo limpio, seguro y eficiente.

Responsabilidades Principales:

  • Seguir todas las recetas con precisin para asegurar consistencia y calidad.
  • Mantener la limpieza y organizacin en toda la cocina en todo momento.
  • Cumplir con todas las normas de seguridad y saneamiento del departamento de salud.
  • Recibir, inspeccionar y almacenar correctamente todas las entregas de los proveedores.
  • Reportar cualquier problema con los productos entregados al chef y contactar a los proveedores segn sea necesario
  • Mantener la estacin de preparacin limpia, ordenada y bien abastecida.
  • Utilizar el mtodo Primero en entrar, primero en salir (FIFO) para todo el almacenamiento de alimentos.
  • Mantener el refrigerador (walk-in) organizado y limpio.
  • Etiquetar y fechar correctamente todos los productos preparados.
  • Limpiar y desinfectar las reas de cocina antes de finalizar el turno.
  • Comunicar al chef cualquier tarea de preparacin incompleta o producto con bajo inventario.
