The OpportunityUnder the supervision of School Leadership and a classroom teacher, the Teacher Assistant Art & Dance supports CNCA students by supporting instruction and performing supplemental activities which encourage students to meet their educational goals. Assist the Art and Dance teachers in performing specific duties as assignedAssist the Arts and Dance teachers in creating an environment that is conductive to learning as appropriate to the maturity and interest of the studentsSet up equipment for art and dance activitiesEncourage safety habits in all activitiesTake all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesAssist in the maintenance and storage of supplies and equipmentIn collaboration with the classroom teachers, assist in executing lesson plans for studentsRegularly report on student progress, identifying strengths and needs to assist the team in making program modifications for studentsCarry out tasks assigned by the teachers for students (including filing, paperwork, photocopying, working with small groups of students, and one-on-one tutoring)Assist in maintenance of student records of attendance and achievementCollaborate with other teachers to meet the needs of individual studentsSupport in creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of studentsWork closely with students and their families to promote personal growth and successParticipate in regularly scheduled meetings with grade level team, administrators, and service providers as necessarySupervise students during recess and lunch timeOther duties as assigned
