The Austin Public School District is seeking to hire a Full Time 1.0 Setting IV Special Education Teacher at Oakland Education Center effective immediately for the school year.
APS is a world-class public school system located in Austin, MN. We employ over 800 full- and part-time employees and serve over 5000 students from diverse backgrounds.

- This position is in a self contained classroom
- The teacher hired for this position may teach courses in child development, working with young children, life skills, interior design, and or foods.
- We also continue to explore opportunities that would allow us to offer concurrently taught classes with our local community college.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have or be able to obtain a proper License from PELSB.
Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:
Prior successful experience in multicultural education desirable.
Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
