Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic and collaborative accounting team. This senior-level role is perfect for a professional ready to take ownership of complex tax preparation processes and contribute significantly to our firm's success. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in both business and personal tax returns and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with management and fellow team members to manage all aspects of client accounts and deliver high-quality service. Your primary duties will include:
- Tax Preparation & Filing: Lead the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for various entities, including:
- Business Returns: S-Corps, Partnerships, C-Corps, and Non-Profits
- Personal Returns: High-net-worth individual income tax returns (Form 1040) with intricate schedules (A, B, C, D, E, etc.).
- Client Consultation: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding tax questions, planning, and compliance, ensuring proactive and effective communication.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements, general ledgers, and other records to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and accounting principles (GAAP/GASB).
Minimum Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on, progressive experience specifically preparing both business (corporate/partnership) and personal income tax returns within a public accounting firm or similar environment.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field from an accredited college or university.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with industry-standard tax software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, ProSeries) and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a vital member of a high-functioning team.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $ $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
