SUMMARY:

Provides support across all Community Education programs, with primary focus on Adult Enrichment including program development, class registration, catalog production, staff and participant support, community development, and public relations. Works in collaboration with the Community Education team to design and deliver programs that respond to market trends, community needs, and available resources

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with the design and implementation of all strength and conditioning programming.
  • Greet participants and customers with a culturally competent, welcoming demeanor that ensures a positive experience for learners, instructors and the community at large.
  • Provide customer service via phone, email, and in person related to registration process, class cancellations, payments and reimbursements.
  • Recruit, interview, and support enrichment instructors, event hosts, and volunteers; provide new instructor informational sessions, orientation, classroom setup and safety guidance, and all other community education business practices.
  • Process instructor contracts and invoices, track revenues and expenses, enrollment and cancellation trends to report to program supervisors
  • Collects and analyzes program and participant feedback data to inform program improvement, marketing strategies and class prices.
  • Support catalog and marketing production, including gathering content, editing, and coordinating printing and distribution. Collaborate on Enrichment programs social media, website, MailChimp, flyers, e-newsletters, and other marketing mediums.
  • Participates in school and community engagement events and activities, including occasional evenings and weekends, and assists with community outreach and volunteer recruiting programs.
  • Supports enrichment scholarship fundraising efforts, including identifying potential fundraising opportunities and monitoring project timeline of activities to implement fundraiser tasks, i.e., marketing and community engagement efforts.
  • Completes and supports special projects and research assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • One (1) year of experience assisting community education programs or related programs.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

  • Driver's License, required and ability to travel

Required Knowledge and Skills

Required Knowledge:

  • District policies and procedures.
  • Web-based registration systems, analysis of data, and computer software programs.
  • Computer applications related to the work.
  • Most current digital/online communications tools.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
  • Operating a personal computer using standard and specialized software.
  • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, advocates and representatives from community groups and government agencies.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
  • Performing assigned responsibilities in a manner consistent with the District's established Core Values.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an office setting.

Occasional travel required to locations throughout the District and region.

Ability to work some nights and weekends.
