Solutions Architect

PLM Fleet (PLM) is a national leader in supply chain solutions for refrigerated transportation assets, offering structured financial solutions and technologies for optimized fleet management. PLM Fleet is seeking a Solutions Architect to Design, develop and implement software solutions to address complex business issues, and providing technical leadership within the IT department. Able to thrive in a highly collaborative workspace and actively engage in the development process. This is a hybrid position, three days in the Newark office and two days remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across entire products and services to support technology strategy and vision of organization.
• Conceive, experiment with, present architectural approaches, design, and prototype new products and services.
• Provide architectural design choices and guide from front-end to back-end (full-stack) with comprehensive system design and implementation.
• Architect, design, and implement using a variety of platforms, open sources, and cloud infrastructures to support organizational goals.
• Lead and encourage positive software development culture within the team.
• Provide enterprise level architectural direction and governance that strikes the balance between technical decisions and business alignment.
• Ensure and embody the principle of agility, DevOps, and agility-at-scale.
• Interact with the business community on developing business requirements.
• Interpret business requirements and use case functionality in order to architect, design, and develop products and services that meet the expectations of the business.
• Takes on additional roles as needed and work with development team to ensure knowledge is transferred effectively within the department, governance best practices are adhered to and new technology is evaluated and considered where needed.
• Lead the knowledge transfer sessions on a weekly basis to ensure the development team is aware of newly launched projects and changes that have been implemented.
• Mentors staff to develop technical development capabilities. Shares expertise ensuring that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future development and architecture needs.
• Participate and attend in person office meetings and other company sponsored off-site events when requested
• Technical design and ownership of Dynamics 365, MyPLM Customer portal and B2B integrations Including Telematics
• Work with vice presidents, managers, business analysts, architects, software engineers, quality engineers, database administrators, and systems engineers to coordinate development efforts and align release schedules.
• Evaluate, configure, install, and maintain heterogeneous platforms in the cloud and on premise.
• Build secure, horizontally scalable, resilient, transaction intensive applications and APIs to facilitate the interaction between customers and vendors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Computer Science degree, Technical degree or equivalent
• 15+ years overall IT experience including database development, architecture and design, and distributed applications.
• 10+ years' experience with Object-Oriented languages
• 10+ years' experience with application development, testing and debugging tools and/or IDEs (Visual Studio/Code, Eclipse).
• 5+ years' experience with Microsoft development technologies using .NET framework
• Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process, methodologies, and its technologies such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, XP, Prototype, Waterfall, etc.
• Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns.
• Knowledge of various coding methods and computer languages.
• Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Experience in Cloud Computing (Azure/Dynamics 365).
• Experience with various languages, web technologies, and tools (C#, C, C++, Java, JavaScript/JQuery, JSON, XML, HTML, and CSS).
• Experience with various techniques (Web application/API, Distributed architecture, Mobile first responsive design, Test-driven development).
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation using various platforms and frameworks (Azure API Management, ASP.NET Web API)..
• Experience with Single Sign On (SSO), OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML preferred.
• Familiar with web server and server-client architecture.
• Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design including UML.
• Ability to communicate easily and effectively with technical and non-technical affiliates.
• Must possess strong communication skills; be organized and analytical, and able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive means. Must have exceptional problem-solving capability coupled with a desire to create practical business value.
• Must work effectively in a team environment, interact with other engineers and IT professionals of other disciplines.
