The Group Innovation and Digital Partnerships (IDP) Team is responsible for leading the group-wide approach to innovation, driving customer-centric growth through strategic forms of digital partnerships, emerging technologies, the enablement of innovation, and strategic pursuits, ensuring the bank stays ahead of disruptors.
We are seeking a talented candidate with an entrepreneurship mindset to join a growing team as the global Director for Innovation and Digital Partnerships, based in the United States. This is a critical role that will be responsible for driving innovation, partnerships and opportunities with Google, the US technology providers, innovation hubs, and universities, in areas where the US excels, bringing the best of US tech and innovation to HSBC Group. In addition, the role will play a dual role to support the HSBC US business with a holistic innovation agenda.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Lead a strategic partnership with Google / Alphabet, US technology partnership to drive growth and commercial opportunities across all innovation themes, including structured management and executive sponsorship
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with leading innovation hubs and technology organizations, aligned to HSBC's strategic goals
- Lead a strategic academic relationship to drive research and talent development in areas where the US excels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, product managers, and technical teams from partner companies
- Manage the pipeline of innovative roadmap between HSBC and the partner, identifying areas of mutual interest and collaboration opportunities, presenting consolidated ideas, and directing partner conversations to appropriate sponsors
- Oversee the execution of joint innovation projects, ensuring deliverables are met and solutions are of high quality
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights and recommendations both to partners and HSBC stakeholders
You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
Have a broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast changing disciplineHave a a comprehensive understanding of several value units / products / regions / legal entities, alongside an advanced understanding of the industry and the relative positioning of the HSBC's products and servicesManage responsibilities for a sizeable team of professionals (including responsibility for budget, and planningCover a wide range of activities that require complex judgements based on advanced analytical thought. Problems often require an innovative approach, based on extensive researchDevelop ideas, continuously searching for improvements in techniques which add value to the business and has full responsibility for implementationMake decisions within the objectives of HSBC global business / global function overall. Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
