Purpose
To lead, maintain and improve the Metallus Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards. This role provides strategic oversight of quality processes, drives system-level improvements, and ensures audit readiness across the organization. The position serves as a key resource for integrating quality requirements into business operations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • QMS Management:

  • Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System in alignment with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.

  • Ensure proper document control and version management for all quality-related procedures and policies.

  • Audit Coordination:

  • Lead internal audits and support external audits (customer and certification).

  • Track audit findings and ensure timely corrective action implementation.

  • Compliance & Standards:

  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, industry, and customer standards.

  • Benchmark quality practices and recommend system improvements.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency within the QMS.

  • Drive initiatives for digitalization and automation of quality systems.

  • Training & Communication:

  • Provide training on QMS requirements and updates to cross-functional teams.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for quality standards, quality certifications, and quality system best practices.

  • Performance Monitoring:

  • Develop and track KPIs related to QMS effectiveness and audit performance.

  • Report system health and improvement progress to leadership during management reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 7 years of experience in quality management, quality systems, leading audits, and managing compliance.
  • Associate Degree in business management, technology or related with 4 years of experience in quality management, quality systems, leading audits, and managing compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business management, technology or related with 2 years of experience in quality management, quality systems, leading audits, and managing compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 12 years of experience in quality management, quality systems, leading audits, and managing compliance.
  • Associate Degree in business management, technology or related with 9 years of experience in quality management, quality systems, leading audits, and managing compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business management, technology or related with 7 years of experience in quality management, quality systems, leading audits, and managing compliance.
