As a
Procurement Specialist
, you will manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships for its industrial distribution operations. The
Procurement Specialist
plays a key part in ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and availability of materials that support business growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation skills, industrial product knowledge, and a process-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure industrial products, including MRO supplies, tools, equipment, fasteners, safety products, and related materials
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to improve pricing, quality, and delivery performance
  • Issue purchase orders, manage order fulfillment, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence
  • Set up, maintain, and confirm preferred stock levels within the ERP system
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to expand product offerings and strengthen competitiveness
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions
  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and service levels
  • Resolve supplier issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and billing discrepancies
  • Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and the competitive landscape to guide purchasing decisions
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities through product substitutions, volume consolidation, and alternative sourcing
  • Track, reconcile, and maximize recovery of monthly vendor rebates
  • Prepare and maintain reports on procurement activity, spend analysis, and cost savings initiatives
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate and timely procurement data
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, warehouse, logistics, and finance teams to meet business needs
  • Assist with new product launches and special procurement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience, ideally within industrial distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of industrial products, MRO supplies, and related markets
  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical abilities with a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience with e-procurement platforms and supplier portals
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and international sourcing
  • Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of industrial distribution channels and business models

Benefits
