Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Bus Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting elderly passengers to and from the Senior Center while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, mechanical/technical knowledge, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers.

Duties

  • Safely operate 14 passenger shuttle buses
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe working condition.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, especially those with disabilities or special needs (Paratransit).
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
  • Provide information to passengers regarding routes, schedules, and any delays.
  • Handle any passenger inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on the bus as needed.
  • Document any incidents or mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to bus operation and maintenance.
  • Experience in commercial driving, including school bus driving or shuttle driving.
  • Familiarity with paratransit services is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for effective interaction with passengers and team members. Spanish a plus.
  • Proven customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for all riders.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in limousine services is advantageous.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations effectively.
  • Ability to use mobile phone apps for maps applications for directions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 15 per week
