Saint Adalbert Catholic School is located at 2345 East 83rd Street in the Fairfax Neighborhood. We are approximately six blocks south of the Cleveland Clinic, a five-minute drive from Shaker Square, and located within 1-2 minutes of Opportunity Corridor. We are the oldest Roman Catholic African-American Parish in Ohio and the 2nd-oldest in the nation With community roots extending back to 1873, we are one of the oldest schools in the Diocese of Cleveland. We currently have 435 students enrolled during the school year.

We are currently looking for an Educational Aides . This person should work with students in various grades levels at the Elementary and Middle School grade levels. They will assist in teaching students all core subjects to the students in their assigned classrooms. Core subjects consist of Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Religion. They will also assist with cafeteria and recess duties, grading papers, classroom preparation, contacting parents, and covering classes as needed.

Candidates should be certified as Educational Aides in the State of Ohio. If you are not currently certified, we can assist with this process.

Candidates must have a clean BCII/FBI background check. VIRTUS training will be provided to all new hires.

Our ideal candidate is or will be able to:

  • Assist proactively in Team Teaching with the classroom teacher at a Co-Teacher level.
  • Be able to use Google Classroom and be able to post assignments in Google Classroom.
  • Is an intelligent and responsible person who is willing to challenge their students but also work with them at their level. A High School Degree is REQUIRED for this position.
  • Have good communication skills and communicate well with parents, other staff members, and be a good / positive team player. We work as a team on our campus so we need like-minded people pursuing the common-good for children.
  • Have good classroom management skills and be flexible. Be generally positive and proactive in your approach to working with children.
  • Be able to work with learners of all types including those with IEPs and advanced learners. Approximately 10% of our school is children with IEPs.
  • Know how to use Chromebooks and CLEVER Boards as well as understand the basic function of apps (including setting them up and using them). Our school has a 1:1 Chromebook-to-student ratio.
  • Can use technology well, including the various elements of Google (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Chat, etc.), as well as navigating the Internet well.
  • Staff members who have coached sports or lead clubs before are a plus
  • Five days of PTO (paid time off) are offered

Hourly Rate = $15.00- $18.00
