Role Description
The Paint Prepper plays a critical role in the auto body refinishing process by preparing vehicles for paint application. This includes surface cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure a flawless finish. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and works efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and clean vehicle surfaces prior to painting
- Sand, mask, and tape panels to protect non-painted areas
- Apply primers and sealers as needed
- Mix and match paint according to specifications
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
- Follow safety protocols and shop procedures
- Collaborate with painters and technicians to ensure timely workflow
Qualifications:
- Experience in auto body prep or related field preferred
- Knowledge of sanding, masking, and paint prep techniques
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Familiarity with safety standards and PPE usage
