Job Summary:

The Student Assistant for Graphic Design/CRM will play a key role in assisting the Office of Graduate Studies through creative content development and digital communications management. This position combines graphic design, marketing support, and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tasks to enhance graduate student outreach and engagement. The role offers hands-on experience with professional design software, and data-driven marketing systems, providing a comprehensive learning experience in higher education marketing and administration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to, Graphic Design & Marketing Support Assistance:

  • Design digital and print marketing materials, including flyers, event graphics, social media posts, and website visuals that align with university branding standards.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop creative assets for graduate recruitment campaigns and events.
  • Edit and format photos, infographics, and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Assist with maintaining brand consistency across all visual communications.
  • Support social media content planning, posting, and analytics tracking.

CRM & Communications Management:

  • Assist with the graduate admissions CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to support email campaigns, data reporting, and prospective student communications.
  • Generate and format basic CRM reports to support outreach and enrollment initiatives.
  • Test and proofread mass email communications for accuracy and design quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

  • Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications

  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.

  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)

  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Basic experience producing materials for social media, web, or print.
  • Knowledge of branding, visual identity systems, and marketing design principles.
  • Experience collaborating with a team and receiving feedback constructively.
  • Familiarity with photography, illustration, or motion graphics is an advantage.
  • Interest in supporting university events, student programs, or campus communications through creative design.

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $ $20.00 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Background Check

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes.
