Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the highest quality of our software products, including mobile applications, web services, and enterprise solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of various testing methodologies, automation tools, and development processes such as SDLC, Agile, and DevOps. The QA Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to identify issues early and facilitate seamless release cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, system, regression, performance, load, and user acceptance testing of software applications across multiple platforms including Android, iOS, and web.
  • Automate test cases using tools such as ServiceNow ATF, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, JUnit, and other scripting frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Perform API testing utilizing RESTful APIs with tools like Postman or REST-assured; validate data integrity with SQL/PLSQL queries on databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects identified during testing phases; collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues related to code bugs or system failures.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps or similar tools to support continuous integration practices.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand project scope; translate business requirements into comprehensive test cases ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Perform system testing on various operating systems including Windows and Linux; validate web services using SOAP and REST protocols.
  • Support release management activities by verifying software builds before deployment; ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the SDLC process.
  • Document defects accurately in tracking tools such as Jira or HP ALM; monitor defect resolution progress and verify fixes through re-testing.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment practicing Scrum methodologies; contribute to sprint planning sessions and daily stand-ups.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices in QA/QC processes; stay updated on new testing tools like LoadRunner for performance testing or Service-oriented architecture (SOA) frameworks.

Experience

  • Proven experience in software quality assurance with a strong background in manual and automated testing across mobile (Android/iOS) and web platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise with automation tools such as ServiceNow ATF, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Cucumber (BDD), JUnit or similar frameworks.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, JavaScript, Bash (Unix shell), C#, or Java for test automation purposes.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, JSON/XML data formats for API validation.
  • Experience working within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments along with familiarity with DevOps practices like CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab.
  • Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Oracle DB2 or MongoDB; ability to write complex SQL queries for data validation during testing phases.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub or GitLab; experience with build tools such as Maven or Ant is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills for business requirements analysis; capable of performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex issues efficiently.
  • Understanding of operating systems including Windows and Linux; experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is advantageous.
