We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metals Technician to join our Performance Analysis and Evaluation team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in testing and validating materials that contribute to the performance and safety of future vehicles.

What You'll Do

As a Metals Technician, you will work closely with engineers and other technical specialists to ensure high-quality testing and data collection that supports product development. You will:

  • Set up and execute a variety of material and component tests, following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Fabricate and assemble fixtures and test setups for part-level evaluations.
  • Prepare samples and components for testing under various environmental and performance conditions.
  • Install and calibrate sensors such as accelerometers and other instrumentation devices.
  • Perform 3D laser scanning for dimensional validation and analysis.
  • Operate tensile test frames and other equipment to evaluate material properties.
  • Assist with engine dynamometer testing and related experimental activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment by following 5S principles.

What You'll Bring

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in laboratory testing or evaluation.
  • Experience setting up and configuring test fixtures, including mechanical and electrical setups.
  • Basic fabrication skills, including cutting and welding of metal frames or fixtures.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing of metals, fabrics, or plastics.
  • A strong commitment to safety and procedural compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for basic data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative technical environment.
