About the Role:
This role will lead the Americas logistics team with the primary responsibility of ensuring timely shipments and managing key warehouse partnerships. The position oversees all logistics operations within the Americas (US and LATAM) region, focusing on strategic task delegation, identifying process improvements, and implementing cost-saving measures. The role is also responsible for warehousing within the region and ensuring inventory accuracy and 3PL provider adherence to company requirements. Leadership in this role will drive the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics processes, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily logistics operations in the US and LATAM regions.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to empower the team and leverage individual strengths
  • Ensure efficient operations and timely receipt of supplier deliveries and customer shipments
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and reduce costs
  • Identify potential risks in the logistics process and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring continuity and reliability in operation
  • Develop contingency plans for logistics disruptions and lead crisis management efforts during unexpected events
  • Build and manage relationships with warehouse teams and 3PL providers.
  • Manage warehouse inventory accuracy and drive improvement.
  • Select and manage transportation providers to ensure cost efficiency, service quality, and compliance with company standards.
  • Lead, review and update annual carrier RFQ (request for quotation) to maintain competitive rates and strategic partners.
  • Manage international exports and imports, including documentation, customs compliance and coordination with freight forwarders.
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms to accurately manage international shipping costs and risk of transfers.
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
  • Implement and oversee logistics best practices within the assigned region
  • Implement strategies to enhance the customer experience related to logistics services, including timely delivery and issue resolution
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and compliance standards

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a logistics management role.
  • Prior experience either in a Telecommunications or related industry preferred
  • Functional understanding of ecommerce, transportation industry, fulfillment operations or Customer Service
  • Proficient with Oracle ERP System including Logistics and Inventory functions
  • Proficiency in logistics software and data analysis tools
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and concisely to all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize demands and multi-task to complete objectives
  • Ability to work cohesively with multiple teams, acute attention to detail
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, drop-ship vendors and carriers
  • Demonstrate integrity, maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, especially at the end of each quarter
  • Advanced proficiency in PC applications, with a particular expertise in Excel
