Veterans Security Operations is seeking to increase our unarmed division to service our rapid growing portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and responding to security risks, ensuring the safety of people and property of your assigned post. This is a fast-paced position with some weekends required, so we're looking for an individual with experience in the security field who can handle stress well and remain vigilant under pressure.

Chaperone Protocols and Responsibilities

Arriving at the Patient's Home:

• Develop an action plan with the clinician for how the chaperone will reconnect after the patient visit.
• Example: The clinician may send a text or make a phone call to signal the end of the visit, at which point the chaperone meets the clinician at the door or by the vehicle.
• Upon pick-up, clinicians will provide the Safety Chaperone with the following contact information for emergency use only:
• Clinician's Team Manager (name and cell number)
• Director of Clinical Operations (DCO), if applicable (name and cell number)
• Always offer to escort the clinician to the door.
• If the clinician requests an escort, the chaperone is required to provide one.
• If the chaperone observes any factors indicating a potential safety concern, they must inform the clinician and provide an escort.
• When the clinician chooses to walk unescorted, the chaperone must remain on the same side of the street, positioned in front of the patient's residence, maintaining a clear line of sight to both the door and the clinician.
• If parking is not available within two houses of the residence, the chaperone should escort the clinician to the door.
• For apartment buildings, the chaperone may escort the clinician up to the threshold of the patient's unit.
• The chaperone should park in a location that allows for clear visibility of the patient's residence while the clinician is inside.

During the Visit:

• The chaperone may not leave the clinician at the patient's residence without the clinician's expressed acknowledgement.
• Maintain constant situational awareness and vigilance of the surroundings in case of emergency.
• Do not enter the patient's home during the visit unless an emergency involving the clinician occurs.
• Do not engage in conversations regarding the patient or their condition.
• Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to your direct supervisor.

General Chaperone Responsibilities:

• Comply with all traffic laws and assume responsibility for any associated fines or violations.
• Maintain a clean, well-kept vehicle with regular maintenance to prevent delays or breakdowns.
• Ensure the vehicle is free of all odors, including tobacco or vape products.
• Begin each day with a full tank of fuel to prevent any disruption to scheduled appointments.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all required licenses, insurance, and training, submitting renewals prior to or on their expiration date.

Position Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possess and maintain general liability auto insurance.
• Hold a current, valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable mobile phone plan for consistent communication.
• Be fluent in English, with demonstrated ability to read, write, and understand written orders and reports.
• Hold an active security license compliant with state and county standards (provided by VSO).
• Successfully complete all pre-employment background and drug screening requirements.

Required Documentation

• Recent professional headshot with a plain background and proper lighting.
• Valid contact phone number.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current vehicle registration.
• Vehicle make, model, and license plate number.
• Clear photo of the vehicle's dashboard showing mileage (for vehicles over 5 years old).
• Proof of auto insurance.
• State-issued security license for the area of operation.
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) printed within the past year.
• Completion of the New Hire Training Checklist, including:
• Annual HIPAA certification (provided by VSO)
• Biannual CPR/AED training (Provided by VSO)

Vehicle Requirements

• Vehicle, no older than 2018
• Mileage not to exceed 100,000
• Minimal to no body damage, multiple paint colors, ripped/torn or extremely worn seats and door handles.
• Willing to provide weekly inspections of vehicles used in the execution of their duties.
