Remote, Oregon, United States Amper Full time

About us…

Amper is a rapidly-growing IoT startup that empowers manufacturers to unlock their potential with modern software designed for seamless operations. Our platform simplifies complex manufacturing processes, helping manufacturers reduce costs, increase visibility, and drive efficiency. True to our belief in simplicity, Amper's solutions can be self-installed on any industrial machine in just minutes, eliminating the traditional integration hassle.

We are on a mission to build the market-leading manufacturing intelligence and operations platform, enabling manufacturers to operate at the cutting edge of efficiency and innovation. As a venture-backed startup with a distributed team and HQ in Chicago, we are investing heavily in our growth, particularly in our product and go-to-market teams.

The role...

We're expanding our product team and looking for a Product Manager to help drive our next stage of growth. This role is at the core of our business, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to shape the product roadmap and deliver solutions that directly impact our customers.

As a Product Manager at Amper, you'll be at the intersection of customer needs and technical execution. You will engage deeply with our customers to understand their pain points, collaborate with engineers to design impactful solutions, and work with GTM teams to refine positioning and adoption strategies. You'll be comfortable saying "no" to distractions while ensuring we focus on the highest-impact opportunities.

This is a remote-friendly role within the US.

What You'll Do...

  • Own and drive product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

  • Work closely with customers to gather insights, define pain points, and validate solutions.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to develop and launch new features.

  • Create and maintain product documentation, including Marketing and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve user experience, adoption, and retention.

  • Prioritize and manage competing demands, balancing short-term execution with long-term strategic goals.

  • Act as an internal champion for the customer, ensuring their needs are always top of mind.

Who You Are...

You'll thrive at Amper if you:

  • Have a strong appetite for learning, whether it's technical content or industry-specific challenges.

  • Are a collaborative problem-solver who can build consensus and drive alignment across teams.

  • Are highly adaptable, able to switch contexts and wear multiple hats in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.

  • Balance humility with confidence, knowing when to teach and when to learn.

What We're Looking For...

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of product management experience delivering B2B SaaS products, with a proven ability to manage the full product lifecycle, from discovery to launch and iteration. Experience with IoT or other hardware-integrated products is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to own and execute a product roadmap, aligning business strategy with customer needs and measurable outcomes.

  • Proven experience conducting customer discovery and validation—comfortable leading interviews, synthesizing feedback, and translating insights into actionable requirements.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; able to work closely with Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to define, prioritize, and ship features.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including writing clear, structured Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and influencing decision-making across teams.

  • Solid project management and prioritization skills, with a track record of managing competing demands and delivering in a fast-paced environment.

  • A data-informed approach to product decisions, leveraging usage analytics, customer feedback, and business metrics to guide priorities.

  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and a customer-first mindset, consistently advocating for the end user in every decision.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance short-term execution with long-term strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or managing industrial or manufacturing technology products, or deep familiarity with factory operations and workflows.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment where speed, iteration, and adaptability are key.

  • Technical literacy and comfort working closely with engineering teams (understanding of APIs, data models, or connected device ecosystems a plus).

Why Join Amper?

  • Be part of a mission-driven company transforming the manufacturing industry.

  • Collaborate with a dynamic, innovative team that values creativity and impact.

  • Enjoy competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is $120,000-150,000 per year. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amper provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), unlimited paid time off, and early-stage stock option equity.
