Responsibilities

The Winder Operator  has the qualifications and business acumen to effectively run the Winder, Prewrap and Core Cutter to meet customer specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Operates Winder, Prewrap and Core Cutter
  • Computer software understanding
  • Splices defects, metal and contaminants from material.
  • Ensures all flags have been removed from the material and turned into QA
  • Ensures metal detector is validated twice a shift
  • Ensures edge quality on finished rolls
  • Ensures slit width is within customer specifications
  • Assists threadup at the Reel or Calender during startups if time permits
  • Responsible for housekeeping at Winder, Pre-wrap and Sorting table
  • Informs Lab operator, Lead Operator, and Shift Leader if metal is found.
  • Replenish tape, cores, blades and other supplies necessary
  • Ensure tools are on the shadow board
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Communicate with team members as needed, including a shift hand-off with previous and oncoming operator on shift review and planning
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP principles
