The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is a non-collecting, vibrant, community-oriented institution dedicated to enriching lives through the appreciation and understanding of fine arts. Located in NW Houston, Texas, the museum offers engaging exhibitions and educational programs designed to foster lifelong learning and cultural engagement.

Position Overview:

The Director of Education is a key leadership position responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the museum's educational programs. A main focus will be overseeing a significant program of third-grade school tours in partnership with Klein Independent School District during the fall. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic arts advocate with a strong background in arts education, capable of engaging diverse audiences and fostering meaningful community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and oversee innovative educational programs, including tours, workshops, lectures, family activities, and outreach initiatives.

· Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual third-grade school tour program in partnership with Klein Independent School District, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for students.

· Collaborate with Exhibitions and Visitor Services departments to create interpretive content, educational materials, digital content, and resources tailored for diverse audiences.

· Supervise contract teachers and volunteers in the education department, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

· Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community groups, and local stakeholders to grow educational outreach and involvement.

· Plan and coordinate additional special events, community programs, and family days that promote arts education and accessibility.

· Implement the education budget, grants, and fundraising efforts that support programming and initiatives.

· Assess program success using feedback, surveys, and attendance data to promote ongoing improvement.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in arts education, museum studies, fine arts, education, or a related field; Master's degree ideal but not required.

· At least 3 years of experience in education, with demonstrated leadership abilities.

· Experience managing budgets, grants, and staff.

· Strong knowledge of fine arts, museum interpretation, and educational best practices.

· Experience working with school districts, particularly in developing and managing student tour programs.

· Passionate about arts education and engaging diverse communities.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
