Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Transmission Technician to join our team. As a Transmission Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive transmission systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of transmission systems, mechanical skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with transmission systems in cars, trucks, and other vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on transmission systems including fluid changes, filter replacements, and other preventative measures.
  • Rebuild and replace faulty transmissions or components.
  • Inspect, test, and identify worn or damaged parts in transmission systems.
  • Provide clear and accurate repair estimates for customers.
  • Communicate with customers about transmission issues, solutions, and costs.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in automotive transmission systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Transmission Technician or in a similar role in the automotive repair industry.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission systems and mechanical repairs.
  • ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in automotive technology is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
