Job Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Platform team. This role is critical to the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure in a hybrid enterprise environment supporting over 50,000 users. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS services and infrastructure security and will contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud operations and compliance posture.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as a senior technical contributor within the Infrastructure Platform team, focusing on AWS technologies in a hybrid cloud environment integrated with colocation data centers.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable AWS infrastructure solutions aligned with business and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security team to address security incidents and automate remediation workflows using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and SOC 2 compliance standards across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, contingency plans, and incident response protocols.
  • Provide on-call support for critical infrastructure issues as needed.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional/military experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
  • Relevant AWS certifications strongly preferred:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services including: Aurora RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, FSx, Direct Connect, Route 53, EKS (Kubernetes), Managed Microsoft AD, and AWS Firewall Manager.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and secure connectivity between AWS and colocation data centers.
  • Experience with SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations across multiple identity providers.
  • Proven track record in managing infrastructure in large-scale enterprise environments (50,000+ users).
  • Expertise in infrastructure security, identity and access management (IAM), and network segmentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and its integration with AWS services.
  • Proficient in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and remediation.

Additional Qualifications that are nice to have: 

  • Experience with SaaS platforms and their integration into enterprise infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with SUSE Kubernetes, SUSE Rancher, and SUSE NeuVector in private data center environments.
  • Working knowledge of VeloCloud SD-WAN and Omnissa Horizon technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi.
