About Us: SLUSA is seeking certified ASL interpreters to provide on-demand interpretation services across a variety of genres, including medical, business, dental, and educational. As the lead agency in a network of interpretation providers, SLUSA ensures high call volumes, though specific call volumes cannot be guaranteed.

Job Description: We are looking for certified ASL interpreters to work remotely from their home environments, which must be private and free from distractions. Interpreters will log into SLUSA's platform and respond to interpretation calls as they come in. All interpreters must adhere to the Codes of Professional Conduct outlined by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and SLUSA's Codes of Conduct and Best Practices. This position will be Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide video remote ASL interpretation services for a wide range of clients and settings.
  • Adhere to professional guidelines and the Codes of Professional Conduct as outlined by RID and SLUSA.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, including physical presentation, during all interpretation sessions.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential records of interpretation assignments.
  • Log in and be available for interpretation calls as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified ASL interpreter (RID, NAD, BEI, VQAS, EIPA).
  • Evidence of completion of a medical interpreter training program or a strong history of experience in medical interpreting.
  • A professional and distraction-free home environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and necessary equipment for video remote interpreting.
  • Ability to provide immunization records, agree to a national background check, and pass a 12-panel illegal drug test.

Compensation:

  • Set per-minute rate for all calls taken.
  • Direct deposit payments made twice per month.
