Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Socks Knitting Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating knitting machinery to produce high-quality socks, performing quality inspections, and ensuring efficient production workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with manufacturing processes, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation & Monitoring: Operate and monitor multiple circular knit machines to ensure continuous and efficient production, attending to any machine stoppages or "red lights" immediately.
  • Quality Control: Inspect socks at the machine for defects, consistency, and adherence to quality standards and specifications, reporting faults as needed.
  • Machine Setup & Adjustments: Prepare machines for operation by threading yarn, installing attachments, and adjusting settings such as tension, speed, and patterns according to product specifications or technical manuals.
  • Maintenance & Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning, oiling, and lubrication of machines. This also includes emptying trimming filters and ensuring a clean and organized work area.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identify and address basic machine malfunctions, which can involve repairing broken yarns by tying ends, replacing worn or defective needles/components, and calling for technical support for major breakdowns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and quality conditions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures and current good manufacturing practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: We will provide knitting training for an entry-level position. Prior experience in textile, manufacturing, or machine operation is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: A basic understanding of the knitting process is beneficial, along with good mechanical skills and manual dexterity for handling yarns and needles.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and independently prioritize tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent dependability and reliability.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, walk between machines, lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a factory setting.

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
