Plant Utility

General Overview: The Plant Utility position is responsible for day-to-day duties needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed
- Be cognizant of and adhere to safety requirements
- Participate in all safety meetings
- Shoveling, sweeping, and monitoring
- Must be familiar with operating and servicing small equipment
- Must understand or have familiarity with all power and small tools
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment
- Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping
- Ensure safety fences, markings, berms are all in place
- Notify supervisor and/or maintenance of any required work to be done
- Performs other related duties as required
Other Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Able to read, speak and write English
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times
- Work performed in a plant environment
- Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. or more
- Frequently required to walk on unleveled ground
- Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication
- Dependability, reliability, fulfilling responsibilities
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating things
- Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility
- May be sensitive to confidential information
- Must work independently and as a member of a team
