Duties

  • Safely operate Sprinter Vans to complete scheduled delivery routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Load and unload packages using proper lifting techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring items are handled with care.
  • Verify delivery details against manifests or electronic devices before departure and upon completion of each route.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting recipients warmly, answering questions, and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
  • Use route navigation tools to follow optimized paths, adjusting as needed for traffic or road conditions.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards; report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and electronic records of packages delivered or undelivered.
  • Assist with warehouse tasks such as moving pallets with forklifts or pallet jacks when required for package staging or storage.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve delivery issues efficiently and improve overall service quality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar driving role involving route driving.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating box trucks or Sprinter Vans; familiarity with manual transmission is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages safely and perform physical tasks such as moving boxes or equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading/unloading procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, moving items, and vehicle operation.
  • Ability to work independently while managing time effectively across dedicated routes.
