Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Real Estate Development (NY & South Florida)
We're seeking a seasoned financial leader to oversee accounting and finance operations across our high-profile development projects and real estate portfolio in New York and South Florida. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial integrity, strategic alignment, and reporting excellence across all development activities.

As a key partner to executive leadership, the CFO will bring deep expertise in development and construction accounting, fluency in Sage software, and the ability to synthesize complex financial data for high-stakes decision-making. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive transparency, compliance, and performance across a dynamic portfolio.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a finance executive who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about shaping the financial foundation of transformative real estate initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Financial Oversight

  • Lead comprehensive financial management across development projects in New York and South Florida, leveraging Sage software to ensure precision in general ledger, AP/AR, and job cost accounting.

Budgeting & Forecasting Excellence

  • Partner with project leadership to develop and monitor budgets aligned with strategic objectives. Deliver accurate forecasts, proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities to support executive decision-making.

Cash Flow & Vendor Management

  • Oversee all payables and receivables, ensuring timely payments to subcontractors and vendors, and optimizing collections. Maintain strong vendor relationships while safeguarding liquidity and operational efficiency.

Project-Level Financial Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth job cost analysis to track profitability and performance across the lifecycle of each development. Implement corrective actions to maintain financial health and margin integrity.

Executive Reporting & Insights

  • Produce high-quality financial statements, cash flow projections, and profitability reports. Present actionable insights and key performance indicators to senior leadership, enabling data-driven strategy.

Audit & Compliance Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits. Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards, while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Technology Enablement & Team Development

  • Champion the effective use of Sage software across the finance team. Lead training initiatives to elevate technical proficiency and streamline workflows.

Process Optimization & Controls

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve accuracy, reduce risk, and increase operational efficiency across the finance function.

The ideal Chief Financial Officer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or advanced certification preferred.
  • Proven track record in construction and real estate development finance, with deep expertise in Sage and Procore platforms.
  • Mastery of construction-specific accounting principles, including job costing, project accounting, and financial controls.
  • Strong command of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Precision-driven approach to financial data management, with a focus on accuracy and risk mitigation.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards relevant to real estate and construction finance.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex financial challenges and drive performance.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

NOTE: This position is based full-time in our Miami office, reflecting the strategic importance of being closely aligned with our development operations.
