Chick-fil-A Lincoln Park - POSITION OVERVIEW

The Talent Lead is a key member of our leadership team responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and team member engagement at Chick-fil-A Lincoln Park. This role works closely with the Owner-Operator to build and maintain a strong team culture, ensure we're fully staffed with quality people, and create an exceptional employee experience from application to their first day and beyond.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

Pay Range: $20-24/hour (based on experience)

Status: Full-time hours/week)

Schedule: Flexible, with availability needed for recruiting events, interviews, and new hire orientations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
RECRUITING & HIRING (50%)
  • Manage daily recruiting activities including posting jobs, screening applications, and scheduling interviews
  • Conduct phone screens and first-round interviews with candidates
  • Coordinate hiring events, job fairs, and community outreach
  • Build relationships with local high schools, colleges, and community organizations
  • Maintain applicant tracking system and candidate pipeline
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience from first contact through hire
  • Meet monthly hiring goals to keep restaurant fully staffed
ONBOARDING & ORIENTATION (25%)
  • Coordinate and lead new hire orientation sessions
  • Process new hire paperwork and ensure compliance with all hiring regulations
  • Set up new team members in scheduling and payroll systems
  • Create welcome packets and first-week schedules for new hires
  • Conduct 30-day check-ins with new team members to ensure successful integration
  • Partner with trainers to ensure smooth onboarding experience
TEAM MEMBER ENGAGEMENT (15%)
  • Assist with team member recognition programs and celebrations
  • Help coordinate team events, birthday celebrations, and appreciation initiatives
  • Maintain team member communication boards and internal messaging
  • Track team member milestones (work anniversaries, achievements)
  • Support retention efforts by identifying and addressing concerns early
ADMINISTRATIVE & REPORTING (10%)
  • Maintain accurate records of all recruiting and hiring activities
  • Track key metrics: time to fill, retention rates, application volume
  • Prepare bi-weekly recruiting reports for Owner-Operator
  • Manage recruiting budget and order promotional materials
  • Maintain social media presence for recruiting purposes
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
  • College diploma or Associates Degree
  • 1-2 years experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality
  • Strong communication skills (English required)
  • Comfortable using computers, email, and basic software
  • Reliable transportation for recruiting events
  • Availability to work flexible hours including some evenings/weekends
  • Passion for working with people and building relationships
  • Positive attitude and high energy
PREFERRED
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Previous recruiting, HR, or hiring experience
  • Experience in restaurant or QSR environment
  • Social media marketing skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • College coursework in HR, Business, or related field
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems

  • Time to fill positions - Average days from job posting to hire
  • Quality of hire - New hire performance ratings after 90 days
  • Retention rates - Percentage of team members staying past 90 days
  • Recruiting pipeline - Number of qualified applicants per open role
  • Team member satisfaction - Feedback from new hires on onboarding experience
