Organization Overview

Recovery Connections is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit Recovery Community Organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. Led by those in long-term recovery, Recovery Connections provides peer-led support through mobile outreach teams, justice-involved recovery services, and community-based centers across Central Florida. Operating with a $5 million budget and funded by federal/state grants, county contracts, foundations, and private donors, Recovery Connections is committed to financial transparency, operational excellence, and transformational impact. Actively growing, we are seeking a passionate individual who enjoys hands on activity reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

Position Summary

Recovery Connections seeks a Senior Finance Director to lead day-to-day financial operations while supporting strategic planning and compliance across multiple funding streams. This role will report directly to the CEO and serve as a key advisor on financial health, grant performance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for mission-driven work. The Senior Finance Manager oversee core financial operations and support the leadership team in managing cash flow, grant reporting, audits and compliance. This person will be instrumental in maintaining fiscal health and ensuring accurate, timely reporting across diverse funding streams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage cash flow, prepare monthly reports, grant invoices, and financial statements
  • Lead preparation for audits, 990 filings, and regulatory compliance
  • Track invoices, payroll, and reimbursements
  • Own grant reporting and budget alignment for funders
  • Handle financial systems with outside vendors
  • Advise CEO and board on financial health and sustainability
  • Create forecasting models and multi-year budget plans
  • Liaise across departments to align finance and mission outcomes
  • Other financial duties as they arise

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of nonprofit finance experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Strong grasp of grant reporting, billing and accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences
  • Bonus: experience in behavioral health, substance use recovery.

Compensation & Culture

  • Competitive salary of $80,000-$90,000/year
