Lead Electrician

General Description
JOIN OUR TEAM AS A LEAD ELECTRICIAN
Advanced supervisory work in coordinating and supervising a crew or a number of crews in performing mechanical/electrical work on utilities systems, also participating with key personnel and/or contractors in the maintenance, fabrication and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment related to Treatment Plant facilities and all related equipment.

Essential Job Functions
Plans, organizes, and directs the work of skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled employees engaged in the electrical maintenance/repairs of various County projects including water, wastewater treatment facilities, and reclaim facilities. Supervises maintenance and repair of pumps and motors. Trains workers in proper work methods and safety procedures to be followed. Routinely inspects work in progress and completed projects to ensure that established methods and safety procedures are followed. Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and the personnel, materials, and equipment to be used. Coordinates installation, repair, and maintenance assignments with County departments and other agencies. Submits requisitions for equipment and materials. Controls the storage and issuance of major items. Trains, counsels, and evaluates the performance of subordinate employees. Instructs subordinate employees in proper work methods and practices, and makes periodic inspections to ascertain that established methods and practices are followed. Responds courteously and effectively to complaints from the general public. Performs related work as required. Assists Labor Supervisors, Electrician II's, Electrician III's, and others as applicable with potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection activities. Ensures reliability of emergency power generation/pumping and transfer equipment tests. Maintains all treatment facilities, housekeeping, vehicle and grounds maintenance. Performs related work as required.

Minimum Requirements
PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to frequently bend, climb, stoop, squat, and walk. Must pass pulmonary function test and fit test within 60 days if required. Position may require to be clean shaven in order to meet safety requirements.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Four (4) years of electrical maintenance experience, which includes repair of water systems/sewer systems. Two (2) years' experience as a foreman or supervisor of electrical personnel.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Must be able to obtain FWPCOA (A) Wastewater Collection Technician Certification within twelve (12) months from date of employment. Must be able to obtain a Confined Space Certification within three (3) months of employment. Must be able to obtain a State of Florida Unlimited Electrical Contractors (EC) license within (12) months from date of employment.
