Assistant Shipping Supervisor/CDL Required

Qualifications:

Stearns Packaging need the #2 guy to learn all aspects of the shipping department. Working directly with the shipping supervisor, The Assistant Shipping Supervisor must be willing to spend the large part of the day on the warehouse floor monitoring inventory, picking orders, supervising other staff as orders are picked, wrapped, staged and loaded.

• Associate Degree (+) required in logistics or similar field + CDL
• Must be certified to operate a forklift, reach, picker and pallet rider
• Must be able to lift boxes up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to operate all warehouse equipment including shipping systems, bailers, dock plates, pallet jacks, yard-jockey truck, CDL Box truck
• Must be able to shuttle semi trailers between buildings.
• Must be able to drive a CDL box truck when required for day trip round-robbins.
• Candidate must be detail oriented, organized, skilled at paperwork.
• Must have an in-depth understanding of order planning system
• Must be able to do all aspects of fulfillment, receiving and general warehouse work

• Candidate must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, as well as being on the warehouse floor daily doing the physical work of shipping and receiving

Responsibilities

• You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner
• A successful assistant shipping supervisor is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication
• The goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively
• full time (40 hours)
• Use software to track, prioritize and pick and load orders
• Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc.

Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment in collaboration with admin & operations team

Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders

• Supervise and lead subordinates (receiving clerks, order pickers etc.)
• Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes
• Resolve issues regarding shipped orders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
